Wakol D3540 Cork Adhesive ensures a secure and long-lasting bond for cork flooring installation. Before use, stir the adhesive thoroughly. Using a suitable applicator, apply it generously and evenly to both the subfloor and the back of the flooring, ensuring complete coverage without pooling. The adhesive should form a closed, uniform film for optimal adhesion.
Once the adhesive dries, it should present a smooth, glossy surface. When both adhesive films are dry and transparent, position the flooring precisely and press it down firmly using a rubber hammer. The installed flooring can be walked on immediately. For natural cork surfaces, sealing can be done after 24 hours.
Cork tiles can be pre-coated with Wakol D3540 Cork Adhesive up to 24 hours before installation or mechanically pre-coated with WAKOL D3513 up to six months in advance. On the day of installation, apply adhesive only to the subfloor. After adequate airing time, pre-coated cork tiles can be securely fixed using the contact method. The open time for this process is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
