Application
The surface must be professionally sanded before applying the
LOBA Speed water-based 1K Finish. Ensure the floor is dry and free of any previous coatings, oil, grease, wax, silicone, sanding dust, and other impurities.
- Ideal conditions for processing are room temperature between +15°C and +25°C, floor temperature between +15°C and +22°C, relative humidity of 40% - 75%, and material temperature between +18°C and +25°C. The maximum wood moisture content should not exceed 12%. Ensure adequate ventilation in the working area.
- To prevent damage to the parquet, the room temperature should match the annual average expected for the product's intended use.
- To minimize the risk of excessive swelling, we recommend applying no more than 2 coats of
LOBA Speed 1K Finish per day.
- Transfer the material to a LOBA varnish bucket before use.
- Shake the lacquer product thoroughly before applying.

Thinner / Mixing
The LOBA Speed Water-based 1K Finish is ready to use and should not be diluted.
Application Tool / Application Rate
Use the LOBA Deluxe roller 120 for application. The recommended application rate is 120-150 ml/m² , which covers approximately 6.5-8 m² per liter or kilogram.
Intermediate Sanding
Recoating with
LOBA Speed can be done without intermediate sanding within the first 24 hours. After this period, intermediate sanding is required. For improved surface appearance, intermediate sanding before the final application is recommended. Use a LOBASAND perforated pad (P180 or finer) or Sanding Net (P180 or finer). Ensure all dust is removed before recoating.
Drying Time
- The surface can be carefully walked on, and intermediate sanding can be performed after a minimum of 4 hours with.
- Light foot traffic is allowed after 24 hours.
- Full usage and coverage are possible after 5 days.
- Drying times are based on a temperature of +20°C and 50% relative humidity.

Application Without Primer
LOBA Speed Water-Based 1K Finish is suitable for most European and exotic wood types. For a full list of compatible wood types, visit www.loba.de. If unsure, please contact the manufacturer. The product minimizes the risk of edge bonding. When used properly, on well-prepared and bonded surfaces, it prevents issues like blocking. For moisture-sensitive woods, parquet over underfloor heating, and renovation projects, we recommend applying only one coat per day. A total application of 250g/m² of
LOBA Speed is required.
Application Process
- Properly prepare the substrate.
- Apply the LOBA Speed 1K Finish with a roller.
- Allow to dry.
- Perform intermediate sanding.
- Apply the final coat of finish.
